WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (May 11, 2018) – The 2018 Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey’s Fancy New York’s Artisan Cheese launches Friday July 13 in style, during the event’s traditional kick-off party, Yancey’s Fancy Launch of The Lakes.
Gates open at 5:00 p.m. for this colorful evening, which features previews of several exclusive Festival wineries, sampling of artisan cheese provided by Yancey’s Fancy, fireworks display, and contests awarding the best togas and costumes in attendance. Live music by Buffalo, N.Y. native and performer on NBC’s The Voice, Keith James Band will also accompany the event.
Yancey’s Fancy Launch of The Lakes includes the opportunity to win a variety of prizes in the toga contest in categories such as Most Creative Toga and Most Creative Costume. Two individuals will also be crowned by Bacchus, the god of wine, as the 2018 King and Queen at the Finger Lakes’ largest toga party. Admission is only $20 and tickets for this can’t-miss night will be available at the gate, however, advanced purchase is strongly encouraged. Launch of the Lakes is a separate event from the Finger Lakes Wine Festival, and is not included in regular festival admission.
