2022 MERIT AWARDS ANNOUNCED
AT M&T BANK CLOTHESLINE FESTIVAL
Rochester, NY, September 10, 2022 – Four artists were honored as Merit Award winners, including a First-Time Exhibitor Award at the 66th Annual M&T Bank Clothesline Festival, held September 10th and 11th at the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester. Winners were chosen from almost 300 artists and makers from across the country for the awards, which recognize extraordinary quality, craftsmanship, creativity, and/or outstanding presentation.
The 2022 Merit Award winners are:
- Ryan Florey of Rochester, NY, Ceramics – Booth #021
- Jeannie Clinton of Rochester, NY, Mixed Media & Jewelry – Booth #187
- Yushan Socola of Rochester, NY, Painting, & Qian Yifan of Rochester, NY, Printmaking – Booth #226
The 2022 First-Time Exhibitor Award was presented to:
- Maya Davis of Fairport, NY, Mixed Media (textiles and fiber) – Booth #623

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Rochester's largest and longest-running fine arts festival continues to evolve. Originating as a New York State-only artist festival, Clothesline has expanded in recent years to welcome artists from across the country. It's now the place to experience all-day live entertainment, sample food from some of Rochester's favorite vendors, enjoy free family art activities, visit the museum, and, of course, browse and buy original artwork throughout the grounds.
About The Memorial Art Gallery
The Memorial Art Gallery showcases visual art from antiquity to the present day, including the outdoor public Centennial Sculpture Park. In addition to its permanent collection, MAG offers a year-round schedule of special exhibitions, lectures, concerts, tours, after-hours social events, and family activities.
Hours: Wednesday–Sunday 11 am to 5 pm, and until 9 pm on Thursdays. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Admission: $20; senior citizens, $18; college students with ID and children 6–18, $9. Always free to members, University of Rochester faculty/staff and students, and children 5 and under. Half-price general admission Thursdays from 5–9 pm. Reduced admission is made possible by Monroe County, with additional support from Dave & Margaret Burns.
