National Women's Hall of Fame Job Posting

The National Women’s Hall of Fame is seeking a highly organized and self-motivated professional to join our team as the Retail and Gallery Assistant Manager. This full-time position reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for crafting and implementing earned revenue efforts, including admissions, group sales, and the gift shop. The position is also responsible for key aspect of donor and member stewardship, including the timely entry of donations and communications. The Retail and Gallery Assistant Manager oversees a committed team of volunteer docents, and is responsible for their recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing education.

Specific duties include:

  • Overseeing the onsite and mobile POS system, including cash management, bank deposits, and financial reporting
  • Entering new memberships and donations into the database, and generating thank you notes and acknowledgements to donors
  • Recommending, ordering, merchandising, and maintaining inventory for the Hall of Fame’s gift shop (inside the museum and online)
  • Scheduling, training, and supervising volunteer docents who assist with admissions and tours
  • Assisting with events and programs, including the set-up and management of the off-site, pop up gift shop
  • Performing clerical duties, including assisting with mailings, answering the phone, and responding to emails
  • Maintaining the visual standards, safety, and day-to-day cleanliness of the public areas of the building
  • Attendance at biannual Induction is required

The National Women’s Hall of Fame provides exceptional customer service to all who visit or communicate with our organization. The Retail and Gallery Assistant Manager works with a diverse community of guests, members and supporters, and must be able to juggle multiple priorities. Previous retail and merchandising or hospitality experience is preferred.

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 9am to 5pm. Some additional weekend and holiday work may be required, including the ability to assist with internal and external events and programs.

Requirements: The Retail and Gallery Assistant Manager must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds
