Where Do You Work?

And/or ... where would you like to work?!? The FLX Gateway Community Development Corporation (CDC) is investigating the creation of FLX Works, a communal workspace to be located in downtown Watkins Glen. Maybe you or someone you know is looking for a place to work outside of the home? Maybe you need a business address? A conference room rental? Help us plan so that we meet our community's needs! This survey is quick and confidential.

Access: A SUNY CCC Priority

The State University of New York has granted approval for an Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) to be established at SUNY Corning Community College. EOP helps make higher education possible for students who demonstrate academic promise, but whose life circumstances have not permitted them to reach their full potential.

SCCUDD Recognizes Students

Congratulations to Hanlon Elementary student Peter Dechow of Montour Falls for creating the winning sticker for the Schuyler County Coalition on Underage Drinking and Drugs' (SCCUDD) second Pizza Box Sticker Shock event. The contest was open to all students in Schuyler county. Peter's message of “Pizza is good! Drugs are bad! Which will you choose?” was placed on nearly 3000 area pizza boxes. Other entries were placed on SCCUDD multi-media during the month of December, and each contestant received a SCCUDD “Shining Star” certificate in recognition of participation.

American Pickers:

They're Back

The American Pickers are returning to New York in August 2022 and would love to explore your hidden treasure. If you or someone you know has a large, private collection, or accumulation of antiques, send your name, phone number, location, and description of the collection with photos to americanpickers@cineflix.com. Please note: the Pickers only pick private collections, so NO stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses, or anything open to the public will be considered. Good luck!

'Tis the Season: Summer Hours

The weather is warmer. Visitors are here. And, members are increasing hours to welcome them. If you've changed your hours or are open additional days, please remember to let the Chamber know and update your digital presence (website/google/social channels/etc.). Thanks, Lucky Hare, for starting us off: summer hours are in place at both breweries (Hector and Ithaca)!

Welliver Welcomes Leader

Please help the Chamber and Welliver welcome Richard Armbruster as Project Superintendent at the construction service provider. After nearly 35 years of experience, Richard has earned a solid reputation as a subject matter expert specializing in electrical circuits and controls. The foundation of his career is built on open communication, effective problem solving, strong client relationships, collaboration with colleagues, and significant knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

Summer in our Sights
