Seasonal Local Fare Available Now along the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail

Jun 02nd, 2022

June 1, 2022, Romulus, NY- In addition to offering plenty of hand-crafted wines, the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail is proud to announce the expansion of their food offerings with the opening of all seasonal restaurants along the lake.

Knapp Winery’s Vineyard Restaurant is located steps away from the tasting room, and opens to an outdoor patio, shaded by a trellis of grapevines that look over vineyards. The restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday, serving lunch from 11:00am to 4:00pm, and for the first time, is now offering dinner hours from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 607-930-3495 or visiting knappwine.com.

Thirsty Owl Bistro overlooks their vineyards and treats guests to a stellar lake view as they dine under their covered porch. The bistro is open Thursday to Monday from 11:30am to 5:00pm and seating is available by walk-in only.

“I’m so happy that our restaurants are finally open for the season!” Comments Katherine Chase, Executive Director of the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. “A day of wine tasting is fantastic, but a day with wine AND food makes the overall experience on the lake that much more memorable. Plus, food and wine go together like, well, food and wine! It’s the perfect pairing!”

If guests are looking for something different and quicker than a sit-down meal, some of the other wineries have food options, too.

  • Crystal Lake Café at Americana Vineyards has adjusted their operations and offers counter and carryout service with a different weekly menu that features house-made sandwiches, soups, and salads.
  • Cayuga Ridge Estate Winery has teamed up with Taste of the Finger Lakes Café to offer items like pulled pork sammies and gourmet four-cheese grilled cheese on the weekends. (Large orders are kindly asked to call ahead.)
  • Amelia’s Deli at Long Point Winery offers Italian and classic sandwiches, wraps, salads, sides, and even has a kids menu, and is open Friday to Sunday from 11:00am-4:00pm.
  • Coming soon! Buttonwood Grove Winery will be offering fare out of their very own food truck that features house-made sandwiches, salads, and sides.
