Seneca Lake Wine Trail announces charity partner for inaugural Seneca Lake Wine & Experience Auction

Watkins Glen, NY – In August, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail announced that they’d be hosting a first-of-its-kind Wine & Experience Auction, February 10 and 11, 2023 at the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel. Since its earliest phases, the Wine Trail knew they wanted to incorporate a non-profit partner.

Executive Director Brittany Gibson shares, “When we first conceived of and began brainstorming about this event, we knew we wanted to assist a New York State-based non-profit that spoke to the hearts and priorities of the members of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. I am so pleased and excited to announce that the non-profit we have selected is the New York State Children’s Alliance.”

The New York State Children’s Alliance, Inc. (NYSCA) is a non-profit 501(c) (3) and serves as a leading state resource regarding child abuse in New York state.  NYSCA operates as one united voice across the state for sexually/physically abused and neglected children delivering the expertise and support needed to care for abused children.  We do that by fostering relationships and collaboration, inspiring the community to take bold actions, and equipping teams with the latest, culturally competent, and equitable approaches to serving victims of child abuse.

NYSCA provides training, resources, and technical assistance to 46 Child Advocacy Centers, covering every county across the state including 6 tribal nations. Our member Centers provide free services to over 23,000 sexually/physically abused children each year. Over 1,000 multidisciplinary team professionals receive training annually by NYSCA as they work to bring healing and justice to those who often do not have a voice… our children.

NYSCA Executive Director Linda Cleary adds, “NYSCA is honored to have been selected as the charity partner for the inaugural Seneca Lake Wine & Experience Auction.  We are thankful to be receiving a portion of the proceeds as we continue our work supporting 46 Child Advocacy Centers across the state.  Additionally, we are so grateful for the opportunity to share information and educate communities about the impact of child abuse.  Unfortunately, one in ten children will be abused before their 18th birthday. It takes every adult to protect children by speaking up when something doesn’t seem right because one child abused in One Too Many.”
