SPRING BREAK has never been more ELECTRIFYING! April 6-10, Grades 7-12!

Feb 18th, 2020

iLuminate is an entertainment technology company that combines state-of-the-art technology with electrifying entertainers who perform in the dark to create the ultimate performing arts experience!

American's Got Talent finalists, NYC theatre phenomenon, internationally touring sensation, and blockbuster Vegas spectacle mastermind are coming to central NY for a week-long spring break workshop with our students!

Founded by dancer and software engineer Miral Kotb, iLuminate™ enables performers, choreographers, engineers, technicians, stylists and artistic directors to produce explosive performances with customized wireless lighting programs. The results are extraordinary lighting effects choreographed with phenomenal dance moves that take viewers on an exhilarating ride.

Since launching in 2009, iLuminate™’s patent-pending technology has been used in numerous performances by Grammy-winning superstars, and has been featured on hit primetime television shows including America’s Got Talent (in which the dance troupe took third place), Dancing with the Stars, X Factor, and The Voice, plus awards shows like the American Music Awards, MTV’s Video Music Awards, Billboard Awards and daytime favorites The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Wendy Williams Show, and Good Morning America!

When lighting strikes TWICE!

The iLuminate Project is broken into two parts:

Part 1 for PERFORMERS:

iLuminate Choreographer works with performers on three

routines of varying difficulty levels to challenge all students

according to their dance experience and proficiency.

iLuminate’s particular blend of hip hop, street, and classical dance has been found on stages all across the US and the world, and now central NY students can be part of the phenomenon loved by Chris Brown, Death Cab for Cutie, and the Black Eyed Peas!

Part 2 for COMPUTER AND TECHNICAL ENTHUSIASTS:

iLuminate Technician works with students on design, coding, and wiring of iLuminate’s famous light up costumes. Using iLuminate’s patented design app and learning the creative hexidecimal system, technical students will learn computer coding and design applicable in this program and beyond!

Part 1+Part 2= Exciting High-Tech entertainment for parents and friends!

In the second half of the program’s week, the performing students and technical students will come together, performers wearing iLuminate costumes and the technical students designing the light up qualities for the performance! We’ll perform the final result for families, friends, and the community on Friday, April 10 at 7pm!

The iLuminate Project will meet at CRT Downtown, 24 Port Watson St, Cortland, from 10a-4pm, April 6-10. (Lunch break from 1-2pm)

Total cost for the program: $125 per student, lunch is not provided. Scholarships available for students in need.
