Tioga County LDC Hires New Tourism Director Stella Reschke to Retire

Owego, NY – After 18 years of service to Tioga County Tourism, an office of the Tioga County Local Development Corporation, Director Stella Reschke, will step down in retirement and hand the reins and responsibilities of promoting the tourism industry in Tioga County to a new helm director, Rebecca Maffei. (Becca) will begin work as new Director effective April 7.

As a longtime resident of Tioga County, Becca’s relevant qualifications includeexperience as marketing manager for Route 96 Power & Paddle, sales representative for the Times Shamrock Group, account executive for the Press & Sun Bulletin, knowledge of traditional and social media, creating ad campaigns and a personal passion to promote the many fun and interesting facets of Tioga County through freelance writing projects. Becca attended St. Bonaventure University and majored in Journalism. She looks forward to bringing her enthusiasm and personal ambition to promote Tioga County and the Finger Lakes Region into the director’s position.

Reschke leaves her position with a bitter, sweet feeling.  She writes, “My retirement comes with a variety of emotions as I have thoroughly enjoyed my position and the wonderful and fun opportunities it afforded me, and yet, look forward to what is ahead of me. I have enjoyed the tourism professional relationships and friendships I have made in the last 18 years, and I ask that you will continue to support, guide, teach and learn from the new Tioga County Director as well.”
