Visit the Seneca Lake Wine Trail this Fall!

Sep 25th, 2020

Watkins Glen, NY – Seneca Lake Wine Trail wineries have faced a challenging year (who hasn’t?!), but they have made the best of it and despite many changes to the way they do business, they are still offering an enjoyable escape to visitors. Here are just a few reasons to visit this fall:

Rock Stream Vineyards Pig Roast

Rock Stream Vineyards isn’t letting the pandemic stand in the way of their 3rd Annual Pig Roast. They’ve made some adjustments to accommodate social distancing and best practices related to health and safety, but will carry on with delicious roast pig and all the fixings, and of course, great wine. Admission is free, just pay for your food and drinks. The event takes place on Saturday, October 3 from 1-5pm. Learn more here: https://senecalakewine.com/event/2nd-annual-pig-roast/.

Chocolate lovers rejoice! You can once again book a Chocolate & Wine Experience at Glenora Wine Cellars, featuring Glenora wines paired with delicious truffles from Dimitri's Confectionery in Corning, New York. Castel Grisch Disc Golf Course Opens

Castel Grisch Winery has done some creative things during the pandemic and now, they've opened Wild Vines Disc Golf Course! 18 holes, open pretty much year-round, from December 15 - November 15, and it's totally free to play! Disc golf is a great addition to their delicious wine and other offerings including creative wine-based parfaits you have to see to believe, local cheese, and a spacious picnic area.

Belhurst Estate Winery Wine & Food Pairing Dinners

This unique experience takes place on your schedule. Enjoy views of Seneca Lake as the talented Belhurst staff guides you through a six-course dinner, with each course featuring a perfectly paired Belhurst wine. They can accommodate reservations, on almost any day of the month! 48 hour notice is required. To book, call 315-781-0201 ext. 3 or email morgan@belhurst.com.

There are 30 member wineries on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail and all are safe, compliant, and open for business. The use of outdoor tasting space, capacity restrictions, social distancing, and extra cleaning efforts are just a few of the ways the wineries are remaining vigilant in their fight against the spread of COVID-19, while still welcoming visitors. Brittany Gibson, Executive Director of the Seneca Lake Wine Trail adds, “The great thing about the Seneca Lake Wine Trail is that no matter how often you visit, there is always something new to experience. There is no time like the present to enjoy what’s right here on Seneca Lake. Come enjoy the beautiful fall weather, the changing leaves, phenomenal wines, and make some memories with us!”
