(Seneca Falls, NY, Birthplace of Women’s Rights in America) Women March in Seneca Falls 2020 Weekend is an inclusive, non-partisan 3-day event to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment. This January event is to inspire all Americans to take an active role in democracy: encouraging
eligible voters to “get out the vote” in this centennial year; commemorating
the historic 700+ global women’s marches of 2017; honoring the legacy of
women in leadership from Haudenosaunee Clan Mothers (Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy) to today’s activist of all ages, smashing glass ceilings, and to champion Gen Z girls & Millennial young women.
WHEN & WHERE? Friday, January 17 through Sunday, January 19, 2020 in Seneca Falls, New York, the birthplace of women’s rights in America, and in nearby Auburn, home and final resting place of human rights icon Harriet Tubman.

UNVEILING – ALICE PAUL Bronze Bust Rhode Island-based sculptor Victoria
Guerina has gifted her monumental new work to this church’s congregation.
This piece, part of the sculptor’s Notable Women series, commemorates the
day and place in Seneca Falls when Alice Paul spoke from the church’s pulpit
which remains in use to this day. On July 21, 1923 Alice Paul, suffragist,
political activist and civic leader, delivered remarks seeking equality for
both women and men under federal law. Her words became the text of the Equal Rights Amendment, and today almost 100 years later, the ERA is still only proposed and NOT YET ratified for inclusion into the US Constitution!
“An EPIC CONVERSATION”- moderated panel discussion tracing the legacy of women in leadership for social change in America and passing the leadership torch to activist Millennial young women and Gen Z girls. Confirmed: Louise Herne, Mama Bear Clan Mother; Coline Jenkins; Christian Nunes, National NOW Vice President; Sally Roesch Wagner, Women’s Suffrage historian; Megan Smith, Shift7 Technology CEO & LGBTQ Activist; Katie Eder, Future Coalition, Founder; Ana Dobrot, Youth Advocates for Gender Equality, Founder. Women March in Seneca Falls is a non-partisan and grassroots affiliate of
MARCH ON that works with community groups
toward ending systematic racism and sexism, seeking gender parity in elected
office, environmental justice and equal pay, eradicating violence against
women, supporting LGBTQIA, immigrant and disability rights, passing the
proposed ERA, and advocating for reproductive rights and self-sovereignty
for all women. Since January 2017, tens of thousands of supporters have
gathered in Seneca Falls to rally and march with activist “inSISTERS.”
“The women’s suffrage centennial is an auspicious moment in history for
America’s women and a reminder that it is up to us to set the agenda for
2020 and beyond,” said Melina Carnicelli, lead organizer of Women March in
Seneca Falls.
