The National Warplane Museum is now booking rides on two of its most renowned aircraft.
The C-47 "Whiskey 7" and B-17 Movie Memphis Belle are available for rides taking flight from the museum in Geneseo, N.Y. Rides are offered during weekends from June through October 2019.
- The Whiskey 7 cargo aircraft was the workhorse of the Army Air Corps during World War II. It was one of the lead aircraft of the first strike of the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944 over Ste. Mere Eglise, Normandy.
- The B-17, also called Flying Fortress, was a heavy bomber used during World War II. This replica from the “Memphis Belle” movie is one of less than a dozen B-17s still flying.
All passengers must be at least 12 years old to take a ride. Riders ages 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All riders must sign a waiver before taking flight an aircraft.
