Yuletide Traditions Come to Life at Genesee Country Village & Museum Throughout December

Nov 13th, 2019

Mumford, Nov. 12, 2019– In the midst of the modern holiday hustle and bustle, a local tradition offers the chance to step back in time and experience the season as it once was. Guests to Genesee Country Village & Museum’s Yuletide in the Country Tours will travel through the Museum’s historic 19th-century Village, visiting vignettes that illuminate the link between today’s cherished holiday traditions and the cultural customs of generations that came before. Theatrical performances will represent the rich history and tradition that newcomers to the region would have shared throughout the 19th century. Highlights include a look at a Polish Christmas Eve Wigilia dinner, a Hanukkah celebration, traditional Norwegian julkaker cookie baking, and even a visit from St. Nick. Reservations are required for the Yuletide in the Country Tours, which run December 6-8, 13-15, and 19-21. Tickets are $25 per person/ $23 for GCV&M Members and can be purchased online at www.gcv.org. The Museum is offering a discount for a limited time on select dates, with $2 off tour tickets for Friday, December 6 and Sunday, December 8. This limited-time discount runs only until December 2.
