Mar 10th, 2021

CANANDAIGUA, New York (March 10, 2021) – On Wednesday in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Pittsford’s Chris Lillis earned a silver medal at the 2021 Freestyle Aerials World Championships. Chris performed a double full – full – double full (5 twists and 3 flips) to earn a score of 133.50, just 1.5 points back from the event’s winner Maxim Burov of Russia.

“133.50 is a monster score!” Exclaimed Bristol Mountain Freestyle Coach Johnny Kroetz. “We’re so proud of Chris and all that he has accomplished.”

Fellow American Ashley Caldwell also earned a silver medal in the woman’s 2021 Freestyle Aerials World Championships on Wednesday. In an interesting twist, Ashley won the gold medal at the 2017 World Championships alongside Chris’s brother Jon Lillis (2017 Freestyle Aerials World Champion).
