Have you started planning your 2017 vacation yet?
Well, don’t overlook a trip to the Cayuga Lake Scenic Byway. Our 87-mile, loop byway can take you to all kinds of adventures and we have something for the entire family.
Explore the outdoors at Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge home to magnificent bald eagles, osprey and waterfowl; hike through six state parks with breathtaking waterfalls and Cayuga Lake shoreline access; bicycle your way along the lake on a 13.5-mile, off-road trail network; or paddle, float or motor the clear waters of Cayuga Lake and maybe catch a glimpse of Old Greenie.
Love to delve into area history? We have all kinds of museums. You can learn about fossils, nature and science galore. On the cultural history side, step back in time to learn about the Erie Canal, the Women’s Rights Movement, the Underground Railroad, or the silent movie era.
Into the arts? Marvel at the talented artists that call Cayuga Lake their home at a variety of galleries, shops and studios around the lake or take in a show at any number of theatres. Love to dance or listen to music under the stars? We have that too! So many venues, so little time it seems to pack it all in.
You’ll never go hungry either with such a wide variety of eateries dishing out phenomenal culinary treats. In fact, there are so many options from farm stands, to farmer’s markets, to five-star restaurants, you might just have to stay longer or plan another trip back to experience them all.
AND, a trip to the Cayuga Lake area is not complete until you experience the award-winning wines, ciders, beers and spirits. Discover what makes Cayuga Lake wines different from other Finger Lakes wines.
When you’re ready to call it a day, you’ll have your pick of places to stay. From camping to glamping, beautiful historic B & B’s, family-friendly motels and hotels, or a weekly rental along the lake, the range of options is truly complete.
