OVID, NY, JULY, 2017 /Hosmer Winery/ -- Hosmer Winery is pleased to announce that our 2016 Dry Riesling has won multiple awards at the New York International Wine Competition.
Held in New York City and judged by industry professionals, the New York International Wine Competition is an exciting event for us to be a part of. Our 2016 Dry Riesling which was released in April has won Hosmer Winery the accolades of both Finger Lakes Dry Riesling Winery of the Year and New York Dry Riesling Winery of the Year. 1,300 entries came in from 23 countries, including Germany, Australia, and France. This is yet another moment to celebrate Finger Lakes Rieslings standing out among their national and international peers.
The 2016 Dry Riesling is an estate grown wine, a blend from all of our Riesling blocks on the 70-acre Patrician Verona Vineyard. Riesling vines on our property range from our first plantings in 1980 to third leaf crop in some of our youngest vines. As one of the oldest Riesling producers on Cayuga Lake, we are always pleased to see our hard work pay off.
Hosmer Winery is a fully functioning estate winery producing wine on the west side of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York since 1985. We ARE open for tastings seven days a week, all year round, at 7020 Route 89 in Ovid, NY.
