Some of the world’s renowned museums are here including the George Eastman House of Photography and Film in Rochester, the Rockwell Museum of Western Art and the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning. You’ll find that a large part of our charm is the work of local artisans whose galleries and shops are filled not only with the unique, but with work in sync with our culture and heritage. Like glass blowers in Corning, Amish and Mennonite crafters in the Keuka and Seneca Lake areas and candle makers throughout the Finger Lakes. Galleries, small and large, representing work from both local artists and artists from around the world dot our lakeside villages and cities. Some of our art galleries include Schweinfurth Art Center, Rochester Folk Art Guild, East Hill Gallery, Memorial Art Gallery just to name a few.

In the performing arts we don’t miss a beat. Theatres in the Finger Lakes include regional playhouses that are still taking bows several generations after their first curtain call…The Merry-Go-Round Playhouse in Auburn, the Bristol Valley Theater in Naples, the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, and the area's only year-round professional theatre, the Kitchen Theatre Company in Ithaca.
If country music is your choice, visit the Cortland Country Music Park for special performances by top recording artists.

The Hill Cumorah Pageant is performed annually near Palmyra with a cast of 600 presenting one of the world’s great outdoor theatrical productions. This religious pageant features original music recorded by the famed Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
You’ll find top-acts appearing in spectacular theatres and amphitheaters across the region regularly. If you plan to include the performing arts in your vacation, check your schedules for the Smith Opera House in Geneva and the Clemens Center in Elmira.
