Arches in Our Parks

When we think of an arch, we usually think of a free-standing span that one could walk under. That's true for natural arches such as in Arches National Park in Utah. Well, we have subtle arches forming in the walls of some of our Finger Lakes gorges, notably at Robert H. Treman State Park near Ithaca and Taughannock Falls State Park near Trumansburg NY. In this episode of Walk in the Park, we'll look at this phenomenon in both of these parks.
Following that, we will take a short road trip among three state parks (Buttermilk Falls, Robert H. Treman, and Taughannock Falls) passing under the peak of fall foliage, ending at Taughannock Falls itself. This segment as well as the next are episodes of "The Treman Show," produced for there Friends of Robert H. Treman State Park
Finally, we will continue to celebrate our trees with the late Becca Harber as she sings her song, "Beeches are Beautiful," in a video recording we made at Robert H. Treman State Park a few years ago.
