Join us in Hunt Country's historic barn with entomologist and Hunt family member, Caroline Boutard-Hunt and learn to make your garden a haven for bees and other beneficial insects.
Bees, pollinators, and other favorable insects are all the buzz these days, providing beauty, pollination and pest control to gardens and natural areas. However, many native beneficial insects are in decline and can use a little help from home gardeners. Learn from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Yates Agriculture and Horticulture Development Specialist, Caroline Boutard-Hunt about different beneficial insects and how to make your garden a welcoming place for them.
Caroline will also provide hands on instruction and materials to build a bee house. A habitat for native bees to take home and adorn your garden.
At the conclusion of the workshop, you’ll be treated to a glass of Hunt Country Wine in our Tasting Room. We encourage you to bring a picnic to enjoy with your selected wine on the Hunt Country grounds. There will be local picnic snacks, wines by the glass/bottle, local beer, and other beverages available for purchase in the tasting room as well.
