Memory Sketches:

Little life memories, like the ones we all been carry around, maybe not the traumatic or spectacular events, but ones that have endured in our minds through time and that we return to as constant clues to our identity and self. Why those snippets? and what did they look like? Can I bring mine back into view in the same manner that I would copy a landscape or a still life?

I’m a designer, illustrator, and cartoonist who’s worked everywhere from a gold-leaf frame studio to newsrooms to academic publishing. I studied at RISD, freelanced in New York, and even had the best job in the city, Assistant Cartoon Editor at the New Yorker Magazine, while publishing my own cartoons. These days, I design book covers for smart scholars at the Cornell University Press.

This program is made possible in part with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program from the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the office of the Governor and NYS Legislature, administered by the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County.
