Let take a look back to 2017, immediately following Donald Trump’s first inauguration. The National Park Service was forced to remove a post on its social media comparing crowd sizes between Trump’s inauguration and Barack Obama’s.

On the day after Trump’s inauguration, more than three million people participated in Women’s Marches across the US, with more marches around the world. They were protesting Trump’s policy positions seen as misogynistic and a threat to the rights of women, as well as other issues.

That day in Ithaca was no exception, when thousands turned out for their march around downtown and rallying on the Ithaca Commons. It may have been the largest protest march in Ithaca’s history. See it here in this encore episode (158) of Walk in the Park from January 2017.

Following that we step away to the tranquility of nature in Watkins Glen State Park.

Walk in the Park is a non-commercial, public access television series cablecast on channel 13 in Ithaca, NY, and streamed online. It is produced by Tony Ingraham, Owl Gorge Productions
