ATLYS returns to GMF this May to kick off our 2022 season. In collaboration with Anya Wilkening, GMF’s musicologist and resident scholar, ATLYS will preview some of the musical motifs of our season. We’ll trace the development of the string quartet genre all the way from Haydn to ATLYS’s crossover arrangements of American pop rock and ska punk, and voyage across the world to explore the intersection of folk and art music in the establishment of national styles.
