Eat Bacon, Drink Wine, and Be Happy Along the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail this March

Mar 19th, 2022 - Mar 20th, 2022
Location: Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, Cayuga Lake Wine Trail , Romulus NY
Price: $110.00

Back for the 8th year, the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail is pleased to announce the second event in their 2022 line-up, Bacon on the Lakein. Held on March 19th or 20th, attendees will be able to choose from multiple pre-planned itineraries that will take them to 6 participating wineries. At each stop, guests will enjoy a tantalizing bacon-infused dish perfectly paired with an equally delicious wine. Along with that, they’ll also receive 3 additional wine tastings at each stop, a souvenir stemless wine glass, and a digital recipe book to recreate their favorite dishes.

Some of the irresistible bacon dishes attendees will get to sample include Bacon Jalapeno Mac ‘n Cheese, Bacon Arancini Balls, Bacon Wrapped Peaches with a Balsamic Glaze, and Easy Bacon Parmesan Stuffed Mushrooms. These dishes will be paired with hand-picked wines that complement each bite. This year, the focus on events will be more on experiencing the pairing, which elevates both the food AND the wine. Though they’re only sampling 6 of the wineries, they’ll get to take home recipes from all 12 participating wineries.

“We’re extremely delighted that we have a full line-up of events this year, and especially pleased to be bringing this crowd favorite.” States Katherine Chase, Cayuga Lake Wine Trail’s Executive Director. “In 2015 when we first launched this event, we weren’t sure how well it’d go, and year after year it’s been proven that wine and bacon are truly the most unconventional, yet amazing wine pairing there is. And every year, the wineries step up their food-making game and bring is bigger and better dishes to try.”

Tickets to Bacon on the Lakein are sold as tables of 2 for $110, however, there’s an option to add a 3rd or 4th person to your table for an additional $40 per seat, which is a change from last year when it was limited to groups of 4-only. Tickets are on sale now on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail website: www.cayugawinetrail.com.

The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail Wineries remain up to date with current state mandates and adjust as needed. Those still open for the season continue to keep their employees masked, engage in additional cleaning practices, and keep safety at the forefront of their minds. For further information on individual winery offerings and hours of operation, the Wine Trail has many up-to-date resources on its website to help you plan your trip.
