History Happy Hour—Hair: A Brief History of Barbers & Hairdressers in Geneva

Geneva, N.Y.: Join Historic Geneva Curator John Marks for a short and informal History Happy Hour at Lake Drum Brewing on Thursday, February 16 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. John will share a captioned slide show highlighting barbers and hair dressers featured in the Historic Geneva collection and found in the local newspaper. He will look at the earliest newspaper ads, touch on African American barbers and hairdressers, and move up to more recent businesses. Explore an occupation that's been practiced here for two centuries.

Come in any time, stay as long as you like! The slides will run on a continuous loop throughout the time. John will be available to chat and welcomes people with stories and photos to share for future programs.

Lake Drum Brewing is located at 16 East Castle Street in Geneva, N.Y.

This is a Historic Geneva program. Call 315-789-5151 or visit historicgeneva.org for more information.
