Rochester, N.Y., October 22, 2018—The George Eastman Museum will kick off the holiday season on November 2, when the annual Sweet Creations—the exquisite display of dozens of cleverly designed and deliciously decorated gingerbread houses—opens to the public. The display will be on view through December 12.
A beloved holiday tradition, the annual Sweet Creations gingerbread display and silent auction is a visual and aromatic treat for all ages. A highlight of this year’s display is a creation by Kate Sullivan of Cake Power, who was named one of the Top 10 Cake Artists of North America by Dessert Professional and has appeared on the Martha Stewart Show, the Today Show, and Food Network Challenge. Sullivan’s creation, along with a selection of the exquisitely crafted gingerbreads—Sweetest Creations—will remain on view through New Year’s Day, while the rest are available for the highest bidders to take home after December 12.
Proceeds from the auction help support future restoration projects of George Eastman’s National Historic Landmark estate. Sweet Creations is a project of the Eastman Museum Council and is made possible by St. John’s, Tops Friendly Markets, and Tasteful Connections.
