See the winner of Blown Away work live at the Museum! The winner, Deborah Czeresko, will be returning to the Amphitheater Hot Shop for her Blown Away Residency, which was part of the prize package for the Netflix show. The show’s challenges encouraged all contestants to explore new concepts in glass. During her residency, Czeresko will revisit some of the ideas she first began playing with while participating in Blown Away. She will be at the Amphitheater Hot Shop three times as part of the residency: August 28-29, October 1-6, and October 14-18.
These demonstrations are free with the cost of admission (kids & teens 17 and under are free). Demonstrations are family friendly and narrated by the Museum’s Hot Glass team. While in the Amphitheater Hot Shop, visitors can check out the display Blown Away: Glassblowing Comes to Netflix, which tells the story of how the Museum found its way into the global spotlight.
Blown Away, the first-ever TV competition series featuring the art of glassblowing, is now streaming on Netflix. The show follows a group of 10 highly skilled glassmakers from North America who compete with each other to create the best glass artworks and are constricted by time, theme, and the material itself. The winner of Blown Away was awarded the “Blown Away Residency”, during which they will delve deeper into glassblowing projects through live demonstrations in the Amphitheater Hot Shop.
