Have you ever seen 115-feet-high Lucifer Falls frozen over? You can’t drive to the overlook on the Rim Trail at Robert H. Treman State Park southeast of Ithaca, NY. You need to walk for about 15 minutes on the Rim Trail to the spectacular view back toward Lucifer Falls. This is the only section of the Rim Trail that commonly is open in the winter, and the Gorge Trail, which passes right next to the waterfall, is closed for the season. In this encore episode (184) of Walk in the Park, Tony Ingraham takes you on a guided walk to this memorable spot for a truly unusual view: Lucifer Falls completely clad in ice!

Walk in the Park is an Ithaca NY public access TV program produced by Owl Gorge Productions, a partner business in the Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance. The goal of the program is to enrich our knowledge and appreciation of the natural and historic heritage of the Finger Lakes region for visitors and residents alike. You can watch additional episodes of Walk in the Park.
