Festivals, Happy Hour, Live Music, Theatre, and More!

It doesn’t matter what your interests are or who you’re in the Finger Lakes with, you can always find a great event to enrich your time in the region with those you care about.

Events take place all year round in the Finger Lakes region. From lakeside (and on the lake) events in the summer to harvest activities in the fall, snowmobiling or snowshoeing in the winter, and festivals in the springtime! Step inside a glassmaker’s studio to blow your own glass, stroll Main Street on a food tour, or gather for live music and theater performances. Browse the list of Finger Lakes events below or search the specific dates you will be visiting to see everything going on in the region.

Great Events that Happen Every Year

Below, you will find dozens of great events happening throughout the year with many of them happening annually. If you have memories of favorite annual Finger Lakes events from childhood such as cardboard boat regattas, hot air balloon festivals, cheese, apple or pumpkin festivals, to name a few, it’s likely that event that still takes place or, has likely improved your enjoyment. If you see a special event that piques your interest but can’t make it, click on the event anyway, it might be coming back next year!

Events Added Daily

Make sure to check back frequently to see if any other great events have been added. Events are added daily by businesses from every sector and interest so if there is nothing that sparks your interest now, there very well could be soon!

Bat & Moth Night

For millions of years, bats and moths have been locked in an evolutionary dance between predator and prey—and this Saturday night, you're invited to join the fray!

We'll be joined by experts Martha Zettel and George Steele, who will bring special equipment to help us see and hear these remarkable nighttime creatures.

It's sure to be a fantastic evening, so claim your ticket today at rmsc.org/wildwalks!

Runners heading down trail at RMSC Cumming Nature Center.
Frost Town Trail Fest

Explore every inch of the nature center with a 10k or 25k trail run! Frost Town Trail Fest is a trail race presented by Ironwood Adventure Works that celebrates the beauty, recreational opportunities, and environmental mission of the Cumming Nature Center.

The routes explore some of the best terrain the Bristol Hills has to offer while giving runners rare access to landscapes neighboring the nature center. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Cumming Nature Center’s environmental and educational programming.

Bring along your family and friends to cheer you on as you finish—there are plenty of trails for them to explore at their own pace during the race, along with a picnic area for rest and celebration after the run.

RACE SCHEDULE

25k Trail Run | 9am
The challenging 25k course is a single loop that circumnavigates both the Cumming Nature Center and an adjacent property managed by The Nature Conservancy. A steep winding ascent and then descent through historic logging roads initiate 25k runners to this stout cross terrain trail challenge. Next, after traversing through the well-tended Cumming Nature Center Trail system, runners take the trail less traveled across the rugged Rattlesnake Hill ridgeline east of Lake Honeoye. Aid stations will be available at approximately 4 mile intervals for a total of three support stations on the course.

10k Trail Run | 10am
For a quicker and less remote challenge, the 10k course covers the best of the Cumming Nature Center trail system. Less elevation gain and a more runnable course make this a great first 10k or a fast trail loop for seasoned trail runners.

Kids Fun Run | 12pm
Bring your junior trail runners along for a free 1.5 mile kids fun run! To participate, just show up with a parent between 11am and 11:45am to get your race bib. See the registration page for details!

Register by April 30 for an early registration discount. Online registration ends at 5pm on Thursday, May 26.

Fairport Canal Days 2022
Fairport Canal Days
Fairport Canal Days is one of the most popular arts festivals in the Northeast, attracting close to 200,000 visitors on the first weekend of June every year. The festival features over 200 artisans, as well as a variety of music venues, food items, and booths by Fairport Perinton Merchants Association members who sponsor the event. The Canal Days festival began in the mid 1970s, growing exponentially over the years, but always remaining a family-friendly event with something for everyone.

Located on the historic Erie Canal, Fairport is a village filled with charm and character. Having received its name in the early 1800’s from a traveler who declared it a “fair port”, it remains a showcase stop for boaters to this day. Fairport’s “front porch friendly” streets echo its past with beautiful Victorian homes and historic buildings, blended with modern facilities and parks.

The first word that comes to mind for many when describing Fairport is “community”. Fairport Canal Days is the epitome of this word, a volunteer run event that welcomes you to be part of our community.
