The 2020 Freestyle Aerials U.S. National Championships Now Scheduled To Be Held At Bristol Mountain Without Spectators

Mar 12th, 2020

It is with an abundance of caution, as a result of ongoing concerns regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the recommendations of state and local health departments, that Bristol Mountain and U.S. Ski & Snowboard have agreed to hold the 2020 Freestyle Aerials U.S. National Championship event at Bristol Mountain without spectators. Any changes in the current environment may alter this announcement.

“We wish the over 2,000 spectators who had purchased tickets to this sold out event would have been able to see these world-class athletes compete for the national title. We are profoundly thankful to our sponsors Visit Finger Lakes, Visit Rochester, KB Graphics, Inc., Messner Flooring, Prinoth, Canandaigua National Bank & Trust, Direct Energy Business, Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning, Kovalsky Carr, MRB Group, and Power Management,” said Bristol Mountain Event Chair Steven Fuller.

Bristol Mountain is requesting that no spectators show up to attend the event as they will not be admitted. Only essential event staff and competitors will be allowed access to the event. Bristol Mountain asks that spectators respect this decision.

“We are extremely disappointed to have to make this announcement, but we want to make sure that we do what is in the best interest of the safety of our guests, our staff, and the competitors,” stated Bristol Mountain General Manager Daniel Fuller. “We are so thankful for our staff who have been working tirelessly to put this event together since the summer of 2018. We are also thankful that we will have another chance to host the Freestyle Aerials U.S. National Championships on March 13th, 2021”.

Bristol Mountain intends to live stream the event on YouTube. Details on how to access that content will be made available prior to the event.
