20th Annual Purple Foot Festival at Casa Larga Vineyards

Aug 14th, 2015

Casa Larga's annual harvest celebration will be held Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., rain or shine at Casa Larga Vineyards in Fairport, NY. It began, and continues to be, a way to celebrate and kick off harvest time at the winery and highlight the Colaruotolo family's Italian heritage. The Festival is best known for the authentic old-world grape stomping that earned it the name of "Purple Foot."

But the Purple Foot Festival offers much more than foot-staining grape stomping. Guests can take their purple feet around the vineyard on hayrides, a vineyard tour or to family-friendly activities. Activities for those under 21 include a children's area, face painting and crafts plus a wide array of vendors with family-friendly wares. For the adults, there will be live music all day; soft rockfrom 11:00 - 2:00, rock cover band the Willbillys from 2:00 - 6:00, a Sangria Tasting Bar, a Harvest Tasting Bar, spirits, beer, hard cider tastings, and tours of the winery.

Festival goers can also attend seminars throughout the day:

11:30, 2:30, 5:30 - Two Crazy Chicks with Junk Food Wine Pairings - Round 3 They are back! Casa Larga's eccentric and madcap duo of Leslie Arduser-Brogan and Cathy Fabretti will present Round Three of Junk Food Wine Pairings. No chocolate covered peanuts allowed.

12:30, 3:30 - They All Scream for Ice Cream. Your dream has come true... ice cream and wine. We have paired the luscious, velvety, creamy and over-the-top ice creams created by Chef Greg Broman of Artisan Flash Freeze Ice Cream with Casa Larga wine. We know....the heavens have opened up. Ice Cream and Wine for all!

1:30, 4:30 - Let them Eat Cake and Drink Wine Too! Brought back for a second year by popular demand, Chef Tracy Burgio of Kneads and Wants serves up her magically uncanny but scrumptious cakes and we have paired them with Casa Larga Wines. Who says you can't eat your cake and have your wine too? Certainly not us.

Family-friendly booths atthe festival include 1911 Spirits, Accents of Nature, AMA Waterways, Apple Grove Farm, Art N Metal, Bella Bags, Berry Cute Hats, Black Button Spirits, D'Grater, Terra Essential Oils, Embark Cider, F.
