4 Valentine's Getaway Ideas Every Man Will Enjoy

Content Author: Kenneth Reaves, www.perfectcaptain.com

Valentine's day shouldn't be the only day of the year that we remind our partners how much we love them. But it does give us an excuse to go all out and get away from the world for a bit!

This year, instead of buying each other gifts, why not take a trip somewhere together? A romantic weekend away could be just what you both need.

While there's plenty of time for candlelit dinners and couple's massages, try to do some manly stuff, too, so your guy gets his fill of excitement.

Here are 4 Valentine's getaway ideas every man will enjoy!

Take Him on a Fishing Trip

Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city into the wide-open space of nature for a day. For a fishing trip that he will never forget, you can head out to Otisco Lake for some ice fishing.

It will also provide an opportunity to bond and have some fun while waiting for a Tiger Muskie or Walleye to bite. If you don't know how to fish, it would be the perfect opportunity to get him to teach you over a cup of hot chocolate.

After a day on the ice, enjoy a hot meal and a beer at the Prison City Pub. Try their BBQ Pulled Pork Slider or Grilled Brie Cheese, Bacon and Caramelized Onions while enjoying one of their craft beers like the NEIPA.

End the evening off with a romantic night’s stay at the Auburn Hilton Garden Inn. In the morning, try out their made-to-order breakfast buffet.

A Hot Air Balloon Ride

Taking flight in a hot air balloon is a feeling that can't be described by words, and it's a great experience to share with the person you love. Both of you will get a birds-eye view of the picturesque landscapes and gleaming waters of Finger Lakes.

Liberty Balloon Company has several launch sites in Canandaigua, and they offer customized tours. You'll be able to book a flight either early in the morning or in the evening where you can watch the sunset.

For dinner, you can go to Nolan's on Canandaigua Lake, and it's worth it for the award-winning menu that they have. Their stuffed mushrooms appetizer is divine! You can also try the shrimp and chicken alfredo, the fillet mignon or the strip, which is Certified Angus Beef.

A Day in The Snow

There's nothing like the crisp, clean air and fresh snow to bring the inner child in all of us out! You can head towards Bristol Mountain and stay the night so you can take advantage of all the snow. Do some snowboarding or skiing or both!

Here you'll be able to spend time skiing the different trails or doing the 1,200 vertical rise, build snowmen or toss some snowballs at each other. After a long day in the snow, you can head to the one of the two base lodges where you either design your own burrito or enjoy a hot cup of soup.

When you wake in the morning, you can grab breakfast and head straight back out for some more skiing.

Wine Tasting

Plan a road trip where you can stop at some of the best wineries that New York has to offer, Indulge your senses and taste fruity white wines and robust red wines! From Gewurztraminer to Merlots and Cabernet Franc.

For lunch, you can stop and eat at one of the best wine restaurants in Finger Lakes, The Fox Run Cafe. Here you can create your own cheese board to share, or you can try their mac ‘n cheese.

Once you're done with lunch, you can head to the tasting room, which has been set up to maintain social distancing. Fox Run has an excellent Chardonnay, or you can try their Hanging Delta Riesling, the Cabernet Franc/Lemberger, which is a beautiful blend or their Sable.

Here you'll find a wine for everyone and every occasion!

Conclusion

Not every man is the same, but every one of these getaways will provide an unforgettable experience! Whatever your guy enjoys, these should stoke his sense of adventure and be a chance for the two of you to rekindle what the past year may have taken away.

If none of these really catch your eye for your guy, get creative! There are plenty of Valentine's getaway ideas every man will enjoy that didn't make it onto this list.

Above all, make sure it's something he'll love. Take the time to get involved and have the experience with him - after all, Valentine's Day is about the two of you!
