After-Hours Event to Feature Wine and Music

Aug 10th, 2015

Join the Geneva Historical Society and Billsboro Winery for the final Rose Hill After Hours program, a history Happy Hour on the final Wednesday of the month this summer. At Rose Hill After Hours, the Geneva Historical Society will open up the grounds and the first floor of Rose Hill Mansion to participants and have an informal program on a different topic each month. The August program will feature a conversation with Historical Society curator John Marks about music in the 19th Century. Admission is $15 per person and is limited to adults 21 and over. Offered in partnership with Billsboro Winery, admission includes one glass of Billsboro wine, unlimited lemonade, and light snacks.

Once a working farm, the house and surrounding grounds at Rose Hill are open seasonally for guided tours. Built in 1839, the elegant Greek Revival house was the center of a busy and productive farm at mid-century, occupied by the Swan family from 1850-1890. Twenty rooms of the house are restored and furnished in the Empire style, popular from the 1820s to 1850s. The property also has a magnificent view of Seneca Lake and nearby farmlands.

Rose Hill Mansion is located at 3373 Route 96A, about a mile south of Routes 5&20, near Geneva, New York. Rose Hill is administered by the Geneva Historical Society.
