Corning’s Gaffer District is pleased to announce that Arbor Housing and Development presents a new event on Bridge Street, the Northern Lights Celebration on Sunday, November 27 from 3–4:30pm.
Arbor Housing and Development offers the Northern Lights Celebration to the community as a replacement for the Northside Tree Lighting event held near the Corning Senior Citizens Center on Park Lane.
This year’s tree lighting on Bridge Street will be celebrated on Sunday, November 27, at 4:30pm and will be lit simultaneously with the tree in Centerway Square on Market St. DownBeat Percussion, the Buffalo Bills Drum Line, will be there to help count down to the lighting of the tree on Bridge Street in Arbor Housing & Development’s lawn.
Before the tree lighting the Northern Lights Celebration will feature family-friendly activities including selfies with Santa, hot chocolate and festive treats at many of the Bridge Street businesses, kids activities at Journey Fitness, and goodie bags for the children. Corning’s Gaffer District and Arbor Housing and Development invite the local community to enjoy this new event, and stay to watch as the Parade of Lights begins right on Bridge Street near Riverside Drive.
“Arbor Housing and Development is thrilled to join forces with the Gaffer District and other Bridge Street businesses to present the Northern Lights Celebration,” said Jeffrey Eaton, Arbor’s President and CEO. “The event will be a celebration of community in a coming together of the entire Gaffer District to kick off the Holidays with the Parade of Lights and dual Tree Lighting ceremonies.”

The Northern Lights Celebration kicks off the Parade of Lights, presented by Crystal City Christmas title sponsor Centers Health Care. Other Corning’s Gaffer District holiday events include the Holiday Gift Card Giveaway, Small Business Saturday, the 42nd Annual Sparkle and the Holiday Concert with John Berry presented by M&T Bank.
