May 14th, 2013

One lot of  2011 Dry Riesling & 2011 Reserve Riesling sold for $1600

PENN YAN   May 14, 2013,  The double gold medals awarded to two Fox Run Vineyards wines were all one individual needed to decide to bid on a case each of 2011 Dry Riesling and 2011 Reserve Riesling at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition Dinner & Auction, held Saturday, May 4th. The lot sold for $1600, with all profits going to Camp Good Days & Special Times. The item alone will send 3 kids to Camp this summer.

Judges at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition awarded the 2011 Reserve Riesling and the 2011 Dry Riesling Double Gold honors in March. All medal winning wines are then auctioned off at the Dinner & Auction. The Finger Lakes International Wine Competition celebrated thirteen years with over 3500 entries in this year’s competition. It is the world’s largest charitable wine competition, seeing entries from all fifty states and 20 countries. Fox Run Owner Scott Osborn was part of the group that created the Competition and the Auction & Dinner.

“To hear the stories of kids diagnosed with cancer and the joy they receive by attending camp, it touches your heart. Entering wine into the competition or donating auction items to the dinner are small things we can do so kids have the opportunity to attend camp and can be kid” says Osborn.
