UNION SPRINGS, NEW YORK—The Union Springs / Springport Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that the A.R.E. Truck Caps Bassmaster Elite at Cayuga Lake will be held in Union Springs August 21-24, 2014. Come and see 108 of the best bass anglers from around the country compete for a $100,000 grand prize in Union Springs.
Four days of activities are planned, including plenty of food, beer, wine, demos and national vendors from Bassmaster, live music, shopping and entertainment from local vendors, and of course, a great fishing tournament. There’s no charge for admission! The music is sponsored by Costa Sunglasses, maker of the world's clearest polarized performance sunglasses for those who love to be on the water. Musical acts include Ruby Shooz, Prison City Rockers, Custom Taylor Band, TJ Sacco, Chief Big Way featuring Joey Belladonna (former lead singer of metal band Anthrax), and more. The festival will also feature a Military Day on Sunday, August 24, to support and honor wounded veterans.
Governor Andrew Cuomo will also be visiting the Finger Lakes region on Saturday, August 23. The Governor’s Challenge will be held on nearby Owasco Lake, after which the Governor will attend the Bassmater Elite weigh-in at Union Springs.
“This is an exciting event for Union Springs, it’s a wonderful opportunity to show off the beauty of our Village and Cayuga Lake,” said Andrew Rindfleisch, president of the Union Springs / Springport Chamber of Commerce. “We are excited to have the Bassmaster Elite Tournament, the great music acts, the many vendors, and the public joining us for this celebration. We hope everyone has a ton of fun at the festival.”
The four-day festival will be open and free to the public, starting on Thursday, August 21 and wrapping up on Sunday, August 24. The Union Springs / Springport Chamber of Commerce is honored to be working with B.A.S.S., the Town of Springport, the Village of Union Springs, and Costa Sunglasses to host this event.
