BRISTOL VALLEY THEATER PRESENTS ROMANTIC COMEDY COWBOY VERSUS SAMURAI

Jun 21st, 2022

NAPLES, NY (June 2022)

Bristol Valley Theater, the Finger Lakes' award-winning live professional theater, will continue its Summer Season with the laugh-out-loud romantic comedy, Cowboy Versus Samurai.

Written by Michael Golamco, Cowboy Versus Samurai is a fresh twist on the Cyrano de Bergerac story. Travis Park, a modest high school English teacher, is falling for the new Korean American math teacher, Veronica Lee. But Veronica, who has only ever dated white guys, is smitten with Travis's dimwitted cowboy friend, Del. Travis agrees to help Del find the right words to win Veronica's affection, but in the process all three discover what they are really looking for in their search for love.

Cowboy Versus Samurai is a play about finding ones community. Sometimes the people we find challenge us to become our true selves,” says Executive Artistic Director Karin Bowersock. “Travis and Veronica teach each other to love deeply – to not only look past the color of one's skin, but to love yourself first.”

The cast features Patrick Elizalde as Travis, Christine Fang as Veronica, Anthony Leung as Chester, and Micah Weese as Del. The creative team consists of director Joshua Lau, scenic designer Shelley Barish, lighting designer Hope Debelius, sound and projections designer Sydney Smith, and costume designer Samantha Miller.

Performances run from June 30 – July 10 at the theater at 151 S. Main Street in Naples. Performance times are June 30 – July 2 at 8pm, July 3 at 2pm, July 6-7 at 2pm, July 7-9 at 8pm, and July 10 at 2pm.
