Owned and operated by Baywood Hotels, the seven-story, 131-room upper upscale property is located steps from Ithaca Commons and within minutes from Ivy League Cornell University and prestigious private school Ithaca College.

Locally Inspired Design
Canopy by Hilton Ithaca Downtown’s design is inspired by the region’s lakes, waterfalls and forests, in addition to the local esteemed academic institutions. The hotel’s lobby, “Canopy Central,” offers exposed wooden beams and a central fireplace and the guestroom color schemes provide subtle nods to Cornell University and Ithaca College.
The property features contemporary touches, including floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city and industrial-style lighting fixtures, as well as modern residential design and state-of-the-art technology in the guestrooms. Carefully curated artwork from Ithaca’s historical society is also featured throughout the hotel.

The ground-floor Strand Café, which is named for the famed Strand Theatre that stood on the site of hotel from 1916 to 1979, specializes in “New American Cuisine.” The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves items such as autumn harvest farms roasted chicken, house-made gnocchi and a curated collection of craft cocktails.
