Fairport, NY - Casa Larga Vineyards will host its third annual Hot Dog Taste Off on Sunday, July 3. Last year, over 100 people came to the winery to try creatively topped hot dogs paired with wine. The 2016 event will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. during the winery's weekly Farmer's Market, held on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Guests will purchase a hot dog with the winning toppings of the previous two years, and decide which topping reigns supreme. The 2015 winner, titled "Winged Weenie" is topped with wing sauce and blue cheese slaw. It will battle the 2014 winner, titled "Trash Hound," which is topped with meat hot sauce, onions, ketchup, and mustard. "We're excited to bring back our two fan favorites," Cathy Fabretti, B2B wine sales for Casa Larga said. "It just so happened that our past winners were inspired by the Rochester plate and the Buffalo wing." The Taste Off will be held during the winery's Farm to Table Marketplace. The Marketplace is a farmer's market open every Sunday from June through September where shoppers can find local fruits, vegetables, eggs and other locally-made products. The event will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m on Sunday, July 3. Admission for the event is $10 per person for adults and $3 for kids. Ticket prices includes a challenge hot dog for adults, and regular hot dog for kids, as well as a drink. Tickets are available online at www.CasaLarga.com and at the door.
