Casa Larga Ice Wine Honored at State, International Competitions

Aug 21st, 2013

Fairport, NY - Casa Larga's 2013 Fiori Vidal Ice Wine was recently awarded Best of Class Dessert Wine at the New York State Fair Commercial Wine Competition. The wine also received 93 points from the BTI World Value Wine Challenge and a Gold medal at the New York Wine & Food Classic.

The Fiori Vidal Ice Wine has honey and peach aromas, with a bright, smooth sweetness, and flavors of pineapple, apricot, and butterscotch. It is rich and medium bodied, with a lingering finish. The wine is produced in the traditional German Eiswein method, letting the grapes freeze on the vine and harvesting in late December/early January. It is $39.99 per bottle and is available at the wine shop and select liquor stores.

"It is very rewarding for our wines to receive honors both here in New York state and abroad," remarks Andrea Colaruotolo-O'Neill, Director of Marketing at Casa Larga Vineyards. "We take great care in producing our wines and ice wines and these awards speak to the quality of our process."
