Cayuga Lake Cabins Celebrates One Year Anniversary

Aug 23rd, 2016

Cayuga Lake Cabins, two vacation rental log cabins located at 6472 State Route 89, Ovid, hosted its first guests on August 21, 2015 and is celebrating its one-year anniversary.

Cayuga Lake Cabins, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region, are dog and child friendly short-term vacation rental log cabins. Both modern and rustic with air conditioning and heated floors, the cabins are located at 6472 State Route 89, Ovid, on the west side of Cayuga Lake, and centrally located on the Cayuga Wine Trail.

“The most rewarding part about being vacation rental owners is the people we meet and all the great stories we have heard. We have families from all over the country, even outside the US getting together for reunions. We host couples celebrating weddings and anniversaries, friends gathering for birthday celebrations, bachelorette parties and of course, wine tasters. People on vacation are some of the happiest people you will ever encounter and we get to meet them all. The sound of laughter emanating from the fire pit is music to my ears.” says owner Jim Santos.

For dog owners who love to travel, there is no need to make the tough choice between hitting the road and spending time with their furry friend. The owners love dogs (they have 2 of their own) and extend the same comforts and hospitality to dog guests as they do their human companions.

The cabins are identical in nearly every way and offer all the comforts of home. A fully equipped kitchen, 2 queen bedrooms, and an open floorplan with dining and living areas offer a spacious place to relax during your stay. Ideal for a romantic getaway, family and friend get-togethers, guests attending weddings or wine tours, each cabin sleeps up to 6 making the total guest capacity for both cabins 12 people. The location is a short drive from both Ithaca to the south, and Seneca Falls to the north. “Quite often our guests tell us that they love the location, so close to wineries, hiking and lake activities. They enjoy the relaxing and peaceful setting. The area offers so much to see and do here - our guests can do it all, or do nothing at all.” says Cheryl Santos. Outdoors each cabin has a roomy covered porch, picnic table and charcoal grill. There is a large common area fire pit for campfires and star gazing.

If you’re looking for outdoor activities the nearest boat launch is only 5 minutes away, beautiful Taughannock Falls State Park is only a 15-minute drive south and there for golf lovers there is a public course nearby. Guests can also enjoy nearby hiking, bicycling, and kayaking, all popular in the Finger Lakes region. Cayuga Lake access via a walking path and steps to the lake from the owner’s back yard makes enjoying the water minutes away!

For the ultimate in relaxation, Cayuga Lake Cabins has on call massage therapists. Guests can receive massage without ever having to leave the cabins, NYS licensed massage therapists with portable massage tables are available by appointment.

Cayuga Lake Cabins thanks veterans and active duty military personnel, and offers a 10% off the cabin rental rate. To qualify, veterans and current members of the armed services will need to present a copy of their military ID or other proof of service.
