(Romulus, NY)- The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail has teamed up with the Carol M Baldwin Breast Cancer Research fund to bring you a fun, new event that’ll please plant lovers and philanthropists alike.
Sips & Succulents is a 2 day event on June 1st and 2nd taking place at all 14 member wineries along Cayuga Lake. Event goers will not only have that feel-good feeling from knowing that proceeds from their ticket sales are going to a good cause, but they’ll also get the joy in collecting 14 different succulent plants as they travel around the trail. Even those with a “black thumb” can enjoy these little plants, since they’re a breeze to take care of. In addition to ramping up their at-home plant collection, they’ll also get to sample a variety of ‘health conscience’ foods.
“What we’re doing here is considered small in the scary world of cancer, but we wanted to be able to do something to show our support to our grandmothers, mothers, sisters, etc., and what better way than to pair it with wine, plants, and fun?” commented the Wine Trail’s Executive Director, Katherine Chase. “Unfortunately, we all likely know someone who’s been affected by breast cancer, or any type of cancer for that matter, and to be able to donate towards the research to find a cure is an honor that we aren’t taking lightly.”
Tickets to this event are $65 and include a different succulent plant at each winery visited (a total of 14), a souvenir stemless wine glass (that can even double as a planter!), a recipe book so you can make the delicious foods you try at home, a care guide for your succulents, a plant carrier, a donation to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, and of course, a great time! Designated Driver tickets are also available for $60.
