Community Conversation on the History of Schools in Geneva

Oct 08th, 2013

This fall the Geneva Historical Society will host a continuation of last year’s successful program, Community Conversations: Dialogues About Geneva History, with a new installment focused on the history of Geneva’s schools. The program will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 7pm at the Geneva High School Library.

This informal program is an opportunity to learn and to share. Following a brief overview of the history of schooling in Geneva, Society staff will share some of the material from our collection related to Geneva's schools. We will then open up the conversation to questions, personal stories, and observations from people in attendance. We are collaborating with the Geneva City School District to present this program and will hold it at the Geneva High School library at 101 Carter Road.

The public is welcome to attend the discussion and take part in the conversation. Participants are encouraged to bring documents, photographs, or other materials related to Geneva’s schools to share. For more information about the program, call the Geneva Historical Society at 315-789-5151.

The Geneva Historical Society receives major funding from the New York State Council on the Arts and the Town and City of Geneva
