Syracuse, NY- On August 2nd 2012, Destiny USA officially re-branded from Carousel Center to Destiny USA. With the new name came additional tenants, jobs, and renovations within the space; as well as millions of new visitors. To honor the destination’s s one year anniversary the community is invited to participate in special events and festivities Friday, August 2nd through Monday, August 5th .
The celebrations will kick off on August 2nd at 10:00am in the Canyon where there will be a special ceremony to highlight all the changes in the past year as well as a presentation of Destiny USA receiving the Woodman of the World Environmental award for green practices. Great American Cookies will present one of the largest cookie cakes ever made by the venue to kick off the celebration. The festivities will run the whole weekend and end on August 5th with the celebration of Canadian Civic Day.
Forty-three stores opened in the expansion within the last year including a number of restaurants, clothing stores, and entertainment venues. These have added to the already 164 operating businesses, totaling 200+ venues currently open. This number continues to grow as a variety of projected tenants plan to open this year. There are currently more than 5,000 full time permanent employees currently working at Destiny USA with job demands continuing to increase as additional new businesses come online.
