Apr 07th, 2014

Syracuse, NY- Saturday, April 12th will mark the 4th annual Earth Day recycling event being held in the Solar Street auxiliary parking lots of Destiny USA from 8:00am-1:00pm.   Cars can enter Solar Street from either Hiawatha Boulevard or Bear Street.

During this time, all used and unwanted electronics for recycling can be dropped off.  Volunteers will accept all types of electronic equipment including PC’s/laptops, televisions, printers, cell phones, lightbulbs and much, much more. You can find an extensive list of acceptable materials attached or at www.destinyusa.com.

Additional participants in this year’s Earth Day event include Best Buy, NLR, Tillies Touch, DJ’s Gift of Warmth and the Rescue Mission. Blankets, clothing, ink cartridges, light bulbs and batteries will be accepted from 8:00am-1:00pm.

“Destiny USA is excited to host this event for the 3rd year in a row and, with the additions of non-profits like Tillies Touch, the Rescue Mission and DJ’s Gift of Warmth,  it will be an opportunity for the community to donate items for many great causes,” Rob Schoeneck, General Manager of Destiny USA, stated. “We encourage everyone to join us next weekend for this event.”

Donations will be collected for the Hinman fund, an organization raising money to cover medical costs for young Fort Drum wife and mother, Jenna Hinman, who was recently diagnosed with a rare, life-threatening cancer, after delivering twins.
