Destiny USA to Participate in US Travel Association IPW

IPW is the Travel Industry’s Premier International Marketplace

Syracuse, NY – Furthering its commitment to attract tourists to Central New York, Destiny USA, in partnership with the Shop America Alliance, will be attending the US Travel Association’s IPW (International Pow Wow). IPW is the travel industry's premier international marketplace and the largest generator of travel to the US. IPW 2013 will be held this Saturday, June 8, throughWednesday, June 12, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The event will have more than 1,100 exhibitor booths held by US suppliers of USA travel products and destinations and more than 5,000 attendees, consisting of international travel buyers, domestic travel buyers and international journalists representing more than 70 countries.

This year’s IPW is expected to generate more than $3.5 billion in future visit USA travel. IPW offers buyers and sellers the ability to conduct business that would otherwise be generated only through an exhaustive number of around-the-world trips. 

“We are excited to have Destiny USA showcased in the Shop America Alliance booth at IPW, where we’ll meet with leading tour operators and media from around the world,” stated Rosemary McCormick, President of the Shop America Alliance.

Anticipating a large influx of tourists as a result of its expansion, Destiny USA has been an active member of the Shop America Alliance since 2001, working collaboratively with the organization, among others, to promote shopping and dining to tourists. Shopping and dining are the top tourism activities in America, as tracked by the US Department of Commerce/Office of Travel and Tourism Industries and the US Travel Association. 

 “IPW will be the 16th travel/tourism event that Destiny USA has been represented at to date in 2013,” remarked Rose Hapanowich, Destiny USA’s Director of Marketing, who will be attending the marketplace.  “We are already seeing a great response from our earlier efforts this year and are committed to bringing Syracuse to ‘top of mind’ as the new ‘must experience’ destination by participating in at least ten more travel trade and consumer tourism events before the end of the year.”
