Owego, NY - Dixon Golf, manufacturers of the first high performance eco-friendly golf balls, will sponsor the Fallen Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, NY (www.hiawathalinks.com).
Owego Fire Department is hosting this inaugural tournament in tribute to Owego Fallen Firefighter Matt Porcari. "Due to the recent tragedy in our community, we felt we had to do something special in his honor," says John Loftus, co-chairman of the Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament. Dixon Golf helps charities raise additional funds at their golf tournaments. In addition, Dixon Golf is providing an Amateur Endorsement Package for one lucky golfer participating in the charity event. "It is in our foremost interest to help the Owego Fire Department in their efforts to build a strong and healthy community," says Dixon Golf's President William Carey.
Cost for the tournament is $320 per team ($80 per person). Make checks payable to: OFD Fallen Firefighters Golf Tournament. Entry fee includes greens fees & carts, 1 complimentary greens fee per person, buffet with beer and soda, coffee/juice/bagels before morning round, burgers & dogs before afternoon round and lots of prizes.
Registration Deadline May 4. The tournament is open to all men, women and youth.
Total Number of Teams – 60.
The funds raised from the tournament will support scholarships for graduating Owego Free Academy seniors pursing further education.
