Dr. Frank 2012 Dry Riesling Listed as Top Riesling in New York Times Article

Oct 11th, 2013

Hammondsport, New York – October 11, 2013 –  New York Times wine writer, Eric Asimov recently completed a tasting of Rieslings from top Finger Lakes producers and listed the Dr. Frank 2012 Dry Riesling as the number one Riesling in his article, “In the Finger Lakes, Devotion to Riesling Shows”.

For the tasting, Asimov was joined by Florence Fabricant, fellow New York Times writer, Thomas Pastuszak, wine director at the NoMad and Pascaline Lepeltier, wine director at Rouge Tomate.

Asimov noted that, “Our favorite was the 2012 dry riesling from Dr. Konstantin Frank, now run by Frederick Frank, the grandson of the founder. It was energetic, harmonious and deep, and it was also our best value at $16.”

Dr. Frank 2012 Dry Riesling has been one of the most award-winning wines in the winery’s portfolio this year with a total of fourteen gold medals at major international wine competitions.  The excellent 2012 growing season played a huge role in the quality of this particular wine as did the winery’s expert team of winemakers.

Located on Keuka Lake a few miles north of Hammondsport, Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars has long been associated with quality Riesling since the variety was introduced to the Finger Lakes region by founder, Dr. Konstantin Frank in the 1960’s.  Dr. Konstantin Frank Wine Cellars continues as New York’s most award-winning winery since 1962.
