Dr. Frank Semi-Dry Riesling Wins "Best White Wine" at San Francisco Chronicle

Jan 13th, 2015

Hammondsport, New York – January 13, 2014 – Out of 3,000 white wines entered in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the Dr. Frank 2013 Semi-Dry Riesling came out on top, tying for “Best White Wine”.  On the way to the top, the 2013 Semi-Dry Riesling won a double gold medal (unanimous gold from all judges).

The 2013 Semi-Dry Riesling is Dr. Frank’s flagship wine and consistently the most award-winning. Beating out over 3,000 white wines for the top honor at the largest wine competition in the United States is truly the ultimate honor.  Dr. Frank’s 2013 Semi-Dry Riesling tied with a Napa Valley Chardonnay, a feat that no one would have thought possible twenty years ago. The Dr. Frank 2013 Semi-Dry Riesling retails for $14.99 and by stark comparison, the Napa Valley Chardonnay retails for $38.

At the same competition, the Dr. Frank 2013 Dry Riesling won a double gold medal and the Chateau Frank Célèbre Rosé won a gold medal.

Located on Keuka Lake a few miles north of Hammondsport, Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars has long been associated with the New York wine revolution. Its founder, Dr. Konstantin Frank, helped pioneer the introduction of the European vitis vinifera grapevines in the eastern United States.
