May 14th, 2015

Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance, Cayuga Lake Wine Trail and Greek Peak Mountain Resort come together to provide unique giveaway

The Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance (FLTA), the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail and Greek Peak Mountain Resort are working together to present a week long experiential vacation for one lucky winner. The winner will stay at the Greek Peak Mountain Resort and visit select wineries along the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. While at each winery, the winner will learn about many aspects of the wine industry and winemaking process including grape growing, wine making and sales components once the finished product has been bottled. The weeklong experience transitions an everyday consumer in to a winemaker in training and will go from September 28 through October 2.

"There is so much that goes into producing a great Finger Lakes wine and so few get to see the whole process," said Jessica Robideau, Director of Marketing at FLTA. "We love the passion visitors have for Finger Lakes wine and our beautiful region and look forward to giving someone this chance every year."

To enter for a chance to win this experiential vacation, entrants should visit winemakerforaweek.com and enter their name, email and phone number at the bottom of the page. On August 7, five semi-finalists will be selected at random. These five will then have to submit a 150-200 word essay by August 14. The essays will be reviewed by the Winemaker for a Week Committee and a winner will be selected and contacted by August 17.

This is the fourth year these organizations have come together to present the Winemaker for a Week giveaway.

Founded in 1919, Finger Lakes Tourism Alliance is recognized as one of the oldest destination marketing organizations in the United States. FLTA is an association of private-sector attractions, tourism-related businesses and county tourism offices working together to enhance and promote visitor businesses for the 9,000 square-mile Finger Lakes region of New York State.
