Fall and Winter Activities at The Corning Museum of Glass

Corning, NY – Families can enjoy an array of Glass Harvest activities at The Corning Museum of Glass this fall, followed by a glittering Glass Wonderland.  

Glass Harvest 

•    See the world’s largest glass pumpkin. On display September 6 through November 11.
•    Create a colorful glass pumpkin during a 40-minute Make Your Own Glass experience. Appropriate for all ages. Project offered September 3 through December 1. 
•    Go on a Harvest Hunt to find fall foliage, pumpkins and more in the Museum’s collection. Available September 6 through November 11.
•    Choose from thousands of glass harvest-themed items on sale at the Glass Farmers Market (October 12 – 14).
•    Enjoy family-friendly, one-hour tours of the galleries this fall. Offered at 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. daily, September 6 through November 11.

Glass Wonderland 

•    Take a holiday picture with the Museum’s life-size glass snowmen, or under the giant glass ornament tree, which is 14 feet tall with more than 1,200 glass ornaments. On view November 15, 2013 – January 5, 2014.
•    All ages can create colorful glass ornaments during 40-minute Make Your Own Glass experiences, including snowman ornament and Victorian ornament projects this season.
•    Enjoy holiday music, free Museum admission, and discounted Make Your Own Glass experiences during the Museum’s Holiday Open House (December 7 – 8).
•    Go on a “Winter Wonders Hunt,” searching the galleries for holly, stars and more (November 15, 2012 – January 5, 2013).
•    Shop for unique and affordable glass gifts at the GlassMarket’s After-Thanksgiving Sale (November 29 – December 1) and continue to find great deals throughout the holiday season. 

Adult admission to the Museum is $15.00. A special rate of $6.00 is offered to residents living in the 148, 149 and 169 ZIP codes. Kids and teens, 19 and under, receive free admission.
