The Finger Lakes region of New York State is renown for it's wine, water, and agriculture. Farmer's Dinner and its Finger Lakes partners have created an exciting experience to introduce you to the abundant resources of the region in our "local food" movement here in the Finger Lakes.
Your three-night excursion offers many different activities and experiences designed specifically to get you up close and personal with the people and places that grow, create, and handcraft many of the wonderful local foods and beverages available within the region. All while taking in the spectacular views and vistas of the natural beauty of the area as you travel from place to place.
Included in your package:
- Welcome Event at a local spot, featuring hors d'oeurves prepared with ingredients sourced from local farms, local handcrafted beer and wine.
- Farm To Table breakfast each morning at one of the 5 participating boutique Bed and Breakfasts in Hammondsport, New York, at the southern tip of Keuka Lake.
- Finger Lakes Farm to Table Scavenger Hunt, presenting a variety of experiences from farm visits to local cheese producers, with artisan bread thrown in for good measure. We've included some spots for lunch, wineries and breweries to keep it interesting. You'll get to meet the people who grow and produce our food, and learn about why they do what they do. Many stops will have a special surprise for you too.
- Local food Cooking Demonstrations with a panel of chefs & speakers that will instruct you on how easy it is to find and use local ingredients to create incredible meals. They will share recipes, talk about methods and techniques, and get your taste buds involved when the preparation is done. There will also be time for a Q&A session with the panel.
- Farmer's Dinner at Roots Café, a regional favorite for an evening of wine tasting and a multi-course Finger Lakes Farm to Table dinner, the ultimate culmination of your local food journey!
We have also left plenty of time for you to explore some of the other attractions in Hammondsport and the surrounding areas, like the many distinctive Museums, hiking trails and art venues, during your visit to the Finger Lakes.
